Grammy's Shawl

The Flower Basket shawl was safely delivered to my grandmother on Sunday afternoon.

I spoke briefly on the phone with my dad Monday night who said, "You did a beautiful job on that shawl, Boo."

I also spoke with my Grandmother. She was tickled pink. She said that the shawl was gorgeous and that she had taken it to my aunt's house with her to show my aunt and my cousin.

When I told her that there were over 24 000 stitches in the shawl, she laughed in the way that only a person who has knit hundreds of thousands of stitches over her lifetime could - in understanding.

Perhaps, if I ask nicely, Ivy could get a photo of Grammy wearing the shawl for me. :)

So happy your grandmother loved it!

I am always so emotionally involved with the things I make myself - knitted gifts to other knitters are particularly special.
