Did you see that?

I guess it pays to post twice in rapid succession... no one noticed what I wrote on the post about the Mogrunt's Henry Fonda Sweater. Of course, if you perused my FLICKR photos, you would have clued in pretty fast.

I seriously have baby-brain. I thought it was just a myth.

So, for those of you who haven't figured it out already:

We're having a BOY.

Turns out my auntie's intuition was wrong.

Since I was a bit of a tom-boy when I was a kid (I wore dresses only under threat of death and I'm still not fond of them), I'm really looking forward to what this entails:

1. Star Wars
2. Climbing trees
3. Playing with bugs
4. Making car noises while driving little cars over each other's arms and legs
5. Riding bikes and learning to do the perfect sliding stop
6. Making fart noises with my armpits.
7. Skipping rocks
8. Snips
9. Snails
10. Puppy Dog Tails

My two cousins who are closest in age to me are boys. I had so much fun playing with them when I was little. We were always finding fun and probably crazy things to do. Flying kites in the corn fields just before electrical storms, playing with pellet guns, catching fish and keeping them for a few hours in our kayak, throwing entire watermelons to each other while unloading my aunt's groceries, literally climbing the walls at their house... ah, those were the days.

My mom took a picture of my older cousin, Andy, and I sitting on the step of our camper. Andy and I were both under 4 years old... and we were both completely filthy, just covered in dirt from playing on the beach. We look like a couple of ragamuffins. That was only just the beginning of our adventures.

I can only hope that this little boy has half as much fun as we did.

  1. Yay for little boys. When I was pregnant I wanted a girl and I got one, but now I wish I had kept going for all of the reasons you cite.

I already have something for your little guy. Please remind me of your snail mail address and I'll send it along!

  3. Congratulations on the baby Boy -- I thought that you had slipped a little in the post when you showed your bump and said to stay tuned to the next post for the gender of the baby, then proceeded to tell us about the parties in your belly ... "In fact, he tends to have parties when I'm at my desk.", so I thought that was your subtle way of telling us that you couldn't wait til the next posting! LOL! too big of a secret to keep!

I can't wait to see the little outfits you and the KOLers make for him.

BIG Congratulations! As a mother of two (now 24 and 25), I love my boys! You left belching off your list. And, as they grow older, the farting noises are not just under the armpits!

  8. Are you sure it was a penis and not a finger? My husband the engineer, was certain we were having a boy from the ultrasound, but I had girl vibes. Needless to say, my girl was first.
