Dear Minou

In light of the fact that you will be getting a baby sister today, I felt the need to write you a letter of love and support. I wanted you to know that, no matter how much attention Birdie gets, no matter how much trouble you get in as a result of humping her, eating her food or stealing her toys, I will always love you.
I know it can be hard for human children to adjust to new siblings, but I can only imagine how hard it must be for a well-loved chihuahua... a chihuahua who has been the centre of the universe for two and a half years.
It will be difficult to share Mommy and Daddy with a new puppy, but I think you'll be ok if you remember this little prayer:
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
the courage to change the things I can;
and the wisdom to blame all the pee pee on Birdie.

Lots and lots of love and big smooches for the little pooch,
Auntie Steph
