It's Finally Done...

Not just the title of a Heavy Blinkers song, but what I was saying on Monday about the conference.

It's done. It's over. It's finished.

It went well. I think everyone had a fabulous time. The speakers were, for the most part, quite good. A couple were excellent. The Saturday evening activities - mini-golf, dinner and a band - were awesome. Everywhere I looked people were smiling, laughing, slapping high-fives. It was so good to see.

I was a bit frazzled over the course of the weekend. But I had a good time too. There were no "breakdowns", but it could have been the supply of chocolate that kept us all going.

Here I am, hiding behind the registration table, having a "moment" with the big bag of Halloween chocolate bars:

behind the scenes

Tomorrow night I have another work event - a cocktail reception for students. This is the 5th time I've planned this event. I think I could run it in my sleep.

Then on Friday, my office is having a team building event. Oh dear - more work.

I'm just really looking forward to Sunday and Debbie Bliss!!!!!!!!!

It's going to be amazing. The big question on my mind is: what on earth am I going to wear??? I knew I should have finished my flowerbasket shawl. Doh!

In knitting news:

Dad's Lang socks: Sock #2 has passed the heel and is well on its way to the ankle.

Mr. Happy's German Flag socks: Sock #1 is done.

New project: I cast on for Elfine's socks from Amelia Raitte's website. Using Trekking. They are breathtaking. I may be using the needles I need for Mr. Happy's German flag socks. Oops.

Christmas knitting: Will there be Christmas knitting this year? Only Santa knows for sure.

Yay! Our symposium is in 2 weeks. So scary - will anyone show up?

Take a lot of pictures when DB comes. I will be living vicariously through you.

  3. Glad you survived the conference. Sometimes a little chocolate is just what is needed to get over the mid-afternoon conference malaise.

Missed you tuesday. Hope to make it next week.

  6. Is that sold out? I have some extra coin and maybe....

Plus, it's a chance to see my knit girls, which is always fun.

Besides, I am feeling pretty pro-TS lately after yarn help from Cheryl!

  7. Dearest Cousin:

You can't see them but my fingers are crossed in the hopes of Christmas knitting. It's not the kind of christmasy hope that regards the interests of others though, it's the really selfish kind of hope that really really hopes that plans for "Ed!" may in fact come to fruition.

    Cousinly yours,
    Jacob
