An Open Letter to Mr. Munchkin

Dear Mr. Munchkin,
As I have been carrying on quite publicly about my current state of ill health, I want you to know that you and more importantly, your mother, should in no way feel responsible for my condition.

The day that I visited your mom and ended up playing Legos with you, well, I wouldn't have changed it for the world. I knew what I was getting into the moment I saw the slight hint of snot glistening under your wee, button-like nose. It was the call of the Legos that urged me on, that and the prospect of getting to have some quality time with someone who didn't care if I had returned my voicemails or finished that report.

Playing with you and picking up a few of your adorable germs was worth the way I felt for those three days two weeks ago. The time spent building Lego houses, train tracks and airplanes that don't quite resemble airplanes, well, that was the best medicine my soul has had in ages.

I am quite certain that the way I felt last week and the way I feel this week, is actually a secondary virus, picked up at the Hidden Cameras show a week ago this past Saturday. There was a particularly obnoxious man standing near me who had actually sprayed his Corona on me earlier in the evening and did not apologize. I remember hearing him cough. (I also remember wanting to bump into him causing him to spill the drink he held in his hand, but that's for another day.)

All this being said, I hope you can forgive me for misrepresenting you to the general public. You are an adorable child who understands the importance of yarn and gives the best hugs with those little arms. Those facts should be more than enough to secure for you the respect of all knitter-kind.

Please do take care of yourself and your mom... and don't forget to wash your hands after you blow your nose.

xo
Steph

I agree, it was probably not wee munchkin. Because, if he had what you have, the poor little monkey would probably be WAY sicker (since they don't have the immune systems adults do).

Ahh, Moe, for some reason that's not how it works. They pick up the nasty, nasty germ and they get a runny nose, maybe a fever for a day. You, on the other hand, are bed-ridden for three days with fever and delirium, miss a week of work, and spend the next three weeks after that waiting for the cough to go away. Don't ask me why, but the germs that come home from daycare always hit the adults harder in our house.

That said, Steph, I'm glad you're feeling better, finally.

  3. Ninja, stop it. It's not the Munchkin's fault. I was due for a nasty cold, it justs happened that it started off with a visit with Mr. Munchkin. I haven't had the healthiest lifestyle in the last few months, eating poorly (a woman cannot live on cereal alone - hello? Vegetables? Where are you?), staying up late, etc.

Just give Mr. Munchkin a hug from me and thank him for the extra knitting time I've had!

Awww Steph you're so sweet to make sure Mr Munchkin does not feel badly for triggering your cold. I hope you are feeling better.
