29, with 4 years experience

29, with 4 years experience.

Today I am 29 for the 4th time. I'm getting really good at being 29. I've had lots of practice. I do worry that pretty soon I'll start to look like crap for 29 and people will say things like "She's 29? Man, she looks more like 33." and then the jig will be up.

Mr. Happy is taking great joy in telling me that I am a record - as in a vinyl record, an LP. That's Long Playing for you young'uns who missed the whole vinyl era. In four months I will be 33 and 1/3 - the number of RPMs to which you would set your record player for an LP.

Maybe tonight I'll pull out some of my old LPs as a tribute to my age. Hmmmm maybe Platinum Blonde's Alien Shores, or The Bangles or something even older, like Tony Orlando. I always did like "Knock Three Times". It's an appropriate title, considering the 33.

My SIL made the cake for the family festivities on Sunday - chocolate amaretto cheesecake. I have the best SIL ever!

Happy birthday! For an instant, I thought, "what?! Steph's 3 years older than me? Then I remembered, oh, right, I'm turning 32 this year."

    Gack, time flies.

  5. Happy birthday!

My 33 1/3 was right around the same time (about a week off) as Peter's 39th, so when I wanted to have a party for him he tried to make it a party for my 33 1/3 instead. I should have agreed to it, then all the wine people brought would have been for me rather than for him.

  6. Happy Birthday!

This year, I'm giving you the gift of bad news: 29 for the 4th time is actually 32.

  7. Mike - Today, because it is my birthday and I can do what I want on my birthday, I have decided to hate you just the teensiest little bit, for the rest of the day.

Think about that, the next time you point out ugly facts like that to a woman who dyes her hair on a regular basis.
