Bad News; Good News

Bad news first:
My brother is in the hospital. I really don't want to go into details at this point (and I may never go into details). Thank you all for your prayers. He is doing better than any of us could have hoped.
Heck, he grinned at my stupid jokes today. Trust me, they were stupid - threats of Big Nasty Swedish Nurses (why are they always Swedish?) giving him a sponge bath he'll never forget.

I'm doing ok. No worries about me right now. When my dad becomes a mess (which he is right now), I get calm. I really don't know how/why this happens, but it just does. I'll worry about being a mess later.

I'm home in New Brunswick for the rest of the week.

Good news: That sock for my dad? The ones I restarted what seemed like a dozen time? The one I haven't finished 'cause I haven't seen him in ages? He tried on the first one. They're gonna fit. Phew.

  2. Take care, hon, and hugs to your dad and brother. And hey, at least with the food you get in hospital he won't have to worry about the sudden appearance of the ring of fire (the last thing you want when you're flat on your back with a nurse looming, sponge in hand). Hope everything gets better soon, for all of you.

  5. A good by-line for your bog: "When socks are the good news..."

Hope your brother has a speedy recovery. And if you had just said "Swedish Nurses" to any red-blooded young lad, he likely wouldn't think it a scary thing at all. Good thing you specified "Big Nasty".

  7. Hi Steph,

You've been in my prayers (and will continue to be), and your family has been in my prayers as well. This too, shall pass, and I know you'll be strong for your dad...but it is okay not to be strong sometimes too, okay?

Glad to know that you've been able to joke...it always helps to have some comic relief during the hard times! Let the "nasty Swedish Nurse" jokes fly as fast as your knitting needles!

    ((((Steph))))
