Startitis Strikes

On Monday night, after blocking the Travelling Vines Shawl, I got a raging case of Startitis. Mr. Happy, having just finished a week of late nights (mixing someone's album) was enjoying an evening of vegging on the couch and watching mindless television.

I spent about an hour scurrying back and forth from my yarn cabinet in the hallway, to the dining room where the computer was sitting. I had the ball winder out and Mr. Happy was blissfully unaware of what was going on around him. It wasn't until our neighbour knocked on the door with a wedding invitation that he looked up and saw the chaos around him.

YARN EVERYWHERE!!!

and two projects started:

Silk

This, is the Misty Garden Scarf pattern from Scarf Style. I knit about 8 rows on that and then started this:

Counterpane bag

I've had this Southwest Trading company Bamboo in my stash for a couple of years now. I've never really known what to do with it... until Ravelry! Thanks to Jess and Casey's ingenuity, I was able to:

1. Look up the Bamboo yarn in my stash
2. See how many other people had finished projects with this yarn
3. Check out their projects and...
4. Ta Dah! Find a project I wanted to knit with it!

It's the Counterpane Accessories Bag from Handknit Holidays.

Ravelry ROCKS!

It took some time to put away the stash, but man it was worth it. The Startitis went away.

I hear ya. The more I start, the more I want to start.

Ballet slippers for Amy, backpack for Laurel, a wee raglan t-shirt just for fun, and of course the zillion socks. My poor Thermal and FBS will gather dust before they're finished!

  2. Heehee! I just got hit with startitis this morning. Started my Country Silk Clapotis and I'm probably headed to the shop to look at lace shrug patterns for the recently liberated yarn.
    And that bamboo is beautiful.

I can't knit or spin right now, my hands are too sweaty.

I just finished reading Harry Potter. Loved it. I don't know why HP books make me sob in places, but they do.
