Minou has chosen to tag me to do the TV meme thingamabob. Thanks Min min. Let's see here... This is going to be interesting, considering my television situation...
1. How much space is left on your TiVo or Comcast box?
Well, well. TiVo or Comcast. Ladies and gents, here in the wilds of Nova Scotia, we don't have such luxuries.* No, here we have what we affectionately call:
Peasant Vision
Pogey-cable
Do-fer TV (as in, it'll do-fer now)
Let me set the scene. We have a guest in the house. He/she is watching tv. Somehow, this person has the remote control. I am waiting for what inevitably happens:
"tonight on CBC"
*click*
"Canadian Idol on CTV!!!"
*click*
"A rare glimpse into the love life of Peter and Belinda, tonight on Global."
*click*
"do do do dee doo doo... ba Dah, ba Dah, Dah dah dah dahhhhh...Air Farce on CBC"
*click*
"And I-eeeeee-I willlll always looooooove you-eeeee-ooooooo..."
*click*
"We're thinking about taking ballroom dancing lessons, you know, as a couple."
The wheels spin, the guest's head turns as if in slow motion. Eyes wide, he/she says, "You only have three channels?"
I love how they always say it with incredulity and a hint of concern. I like to imagine that they would use the same tone of voice to ask, "You only have two toes on your left foot?" or, "You have a highly contagious STD?"
I TiVo the old way - VCR tapes and a timer. 'Magine that! No cable, no TiVo, but I CAN program a VCR! I have set every clock on every electronic device I've ever met. But I leave the one on my stereo flashing just for kicks.
2. Have you ever bought a DVD of a TV series and if so which one?
No, I haven't. But if I were to make this purchase I would choose:
M*A*S*H
The Gilmore Girls
Kids In The Hall
And something with doorbells for when Minou visits.
3. What was the last TV show you watched before typing this message?
It's Saturday, and I don't watch TV on Saturday mornings (Saturdays are for CBC Radio 1. GO!!!!). I watched the Gilmore Girls last night and everything else after that sucked, so I guess that was it. I sometimes catch Alias on Saturday afternoons.
4. List 5 shows you can't live without.
Oh dear - the TV viewing on Peasant Vision has been pretty crappy this season. Right now, I would have to say:
1. The Gilmore Girls
2. Medium
3. Corner Gas (but I sometimes miss this b/c of other shows)
4. Will And Grace (reruns every day after work - yay!)
5. That 70s Show
And any number of decorating/home reno shows that are on cable when I am away on business trips. Yay hotel cable.
5. Name 3 people to whom you will pass these questions.
I'm pretty sure everyone in bloggy land has done these...
Oh wait, if JAK if she's interested... and Les if the babies haven't worn her out...
and, and... meh, I'm out.
Thanks Min min. That was fun.
Today is Pippin's last day at Aunt Sessanie's Dog Retreat and Spa (he had muddy feet yesterday - the bathtub and some Fructis shampoo were necessary, hence "Spa"). I'll have some more photos of him later!
Ooof. Getting hungry. I'm going to make me some cheater Pad Thai.** It's Luc's famous recipe. Yummmmm.
*I live on a boat that is docked near a tiny fishing village too. We eat fresh fish at every meal and in the winter, I live in my igloo. Ha ha hahhahahahahahhaaaaaa...
Bell Digital Cable has made it here. I just don't want to pay for something that is just another way for me to waste my time! I watch enough now - imagine if I had 30 channels instead of 3!!!! Eep.
**Yes, I know the sentence was grammatically incorrect. I think incorrect grammar and Pad Thai sauce in a package go together quite well, thank you very much. It's like setting the fine china for the Kraft Dinner, or as Ang and I used to call it "Hack and Wheeze".
I am sooooo not checking this post for errors. I'm famished.
you don't have to get videos of doorbells for me! You can just stand outside and ring your own doorbell. I'll pretend I don't know who it is and bark every single time. Yogi taught me that trick when I was staying with Grandpa.
